Poppy and Ivy

A Year Ago ....

I  used to sell these candles and need to re-order them like CRAZY. I am much more in love with the packaging and long life of the Archipelago candles. My favorite...Positano and Pacifca.Mmmmm.....these candles pictured above on clearance now! What a difference 12 months (and 12 blocks) can make!

 

These guys always felt like they were cheering me on during the day!  

The graphics and story line of this book is fantastic. I sold it about 3 weeks ago...after keeping it for  myself for one year. I just couldn't let go! But it ended up going to a good home. Whew.

Ahhhhhh.....the good old days when I had TIME to go to estate sales.

Oh. This book was the book that would change my life. However....I still have the fabric that I purchased WITH the book in a sweet little pile. <Deep sigh>

Oh...THE EGGS. It was THIS week that the egg business started! That was the oddest thing! The gal at the post office couldn't handle it anymore. By my 7th visit with little white boxes she broke down and said "I HAVE to know!!!! What are mailing?????".

She came to the shop a week later and bought some herself!

I enjoy looking back. It reminds me how far Poppy & Ivy has come! It also makes me want to to estate sales this weekend. Trouble......

These shopper bags are INDESTRUCTIBLE. I  do my Trader Joe's shopping with these. I can fill it with bottled sparkly water and Mediterranean Hummus until it's bursting. Not a rip, tear or give at the seams.

These are my poppies from last year. If we had ANY sun I think these guys would BURST! I can hardly wait. I forgot what color they were! Christmas in May!
 
 
 
 
I mentioned that I bought about 4 trillion rolls of ric rac...right? Well, I still have about 3 trillion left.....I just move it around all day. I kiss on it, talk to it, tell it how pretty it looks every day.

Actually, I really do that.

Happy Friday to you all! I am catching up and kind of enjoying it...excpet for the taxes part. OUCH...that might take some SERIOUS time. I have found papers from the 2nd week of January at the bottom of the auction pile...things I was due to have mailed, orders I THOUGHT I'd placed....kind of bad. Back to the piles....Hope your weekend is full of fun treasures!

Our event was so much smaller this year, but really...that was okay with me. I was SO drained from doing the half marathon. It was very hot that day, the marathon started late, so by the end...I was in FULL SUN. Ewwwwwwww..........I was ready for a long nap for the entire day!!!!

Camille is wearing the flag! And wearing it well. I approve!

We had our usual parade, but the parade went wacky this year. We had no "lead" vehicle as we did in years past and the car that was supposed to be in the parade was all over and kept making turns out of nowhere down random streets...and he was BEHIND us...so we couldn't keep up!  THAT was weird.....but in the end...the kids had fun!

Oh well...it all worked out in the end! Lots of food, fun and laughter!

This little bird is part of a mother/baby Haeger set, but this guy got split apart...Mama got sold by accident. And the person never came back for the baby. I think my house will be the perfect nest for this little one!

Vacation, all I ever wanted.....

Is that popular Go-Go song singing in YOUR head right now?

It is in mine. We are HOME. We are down MANY dollars.

Funny how Vegas can do that to a person. I have been to Vegas quite often for both business and pleasure. THIS trip was the WORST the slots have ever treated me.

THANKFULLY, a fine gentleman named Mel (located for the better portion of Saturday on the poker machine next to my husband) had lived in Fresno for 47 years and moved to Vegas 5 years ago. He EDUCATED me on Vegas.

I will CUT his drunken 4 hour story to this.....Vegas is bad in February. Come back in April.

Now he tells me.

But..here was the view from my bed when I awoke each morning. (Literally....from the bed!)

The TV in my bathroom SERIOUSLY killed me, but slightly enthralled me as well.

It was kind of cool to watch Japanese news at 3:00am.

And....I am sucker for the Bellagio fountain show. We started at the Wynn (company dollar!) the first 2 nights, but when it hit time for US to pay the bill, we hightailed it to Paris. BUT....we got a view of the fountains!!!! At the Bellagio across the street! Yesssss............

The night show was so pretty from our room.

We flew home to Portland at about 1:30 am Saturday. Still so groggy. BUT...there were estate sales to hit and a sewing class to take!

I SCORED at the estate sales (thank goodness...those girls sold their hearts out while I was  gone!!!!) and then the sewing class began.

Nobody mocked me and I have ONE POCKET finished on my 96 piece bag. UGGGGGGGGG.
