Where did the time go? I fear I say this often, but I really do feel like I JUST posted...30 days? Really?
It's a different sort of November for me to be certain. I have worked in or owned small shops for MANY years. The day after Thanksgiving, the family just KNEW I wouldn't be around. They knew they were looking at 30 days of late nights, long weekends, customer appreciation parties....the works.
I think I really miss it...but it IS also a nice break. Bittersweet I'd say.
It has been 30 days of vintage markets, new recipes, family events, dinner parties and thrifting.
Today was all about my Etsy shop....I have 15 more items to post tomorrow. I am making headway in the PILE that STARES me down all day. If that piles could talk...it would have called me names. But I made a huge dent and I am on a roll!
Feels so good to have that accomplished.
And I decorated our house a bit more. The lights outside went up at about noon the day after Thanksgiving courtesy of my husband and son who were chomping at the bit on Thanksgiving DAY! I held them back...a bit. And we were FAR from the only ones around here...our whole neighborhood is lit up as if Christmas were next week!
Even before I put the cords in, these blow molds make me so happy. The tree will go in their current space next weekend, but I don't have the nerve to put them outside...I will have to find a safe place (and another big window) so they can be safe inside.
There is something about the frosted cherry garland against the "ale" wall that makes the whole house feel warmer. And against the red sconces I bought at the Sunday Market in Toronto...they were worth adding 20 pounds to my luggage!
I added some new "hair" to my son's funny doll head planters. We found a few of these doll heads at the local neighborhood fair. Makes me smile EVERY day when I go into his room to open the curtains. Never fails...another good purchase! (It's fun to change out the hair from time to time and see if he notices!)
My poor house is now my store. I spend my day rearranging things, painting things, making vignettes...and adding weird doll "hair" to things.
I might need a hobby......
Here's to NOT waiting 30 days for the next post!
You go girl! Sounds like your making the most of this time and really enjoying the holidays, family and friends.
Miss you, Chris/Momma
