Back to school seemed to consume my soul the last 3 weeks. I was actually available to pay attention and to buy the 400.00 worth of back-to-school supplies that are required for my PUBLIC SCHOOL children. The school might not be able to provide 7 periods of classes.....but they still require me to buy 4 reams of paper, 4 boxes of tissue, 2 boxes of bleach wipes,four to eight boxes of 164 pack of crayons for kids who cannot afford it and 6 boxes of kleenex....but I digress....

I still have my space in Uncovered Ruby to fill up. I went up a bit on square footage. I was on the fence, but finally caved. I have SO much stuff, but again...just like I found from zip code to zip code in NE Portland, it blows my MIND what sells in Portland will not budge in Battle Ground, WA. Pretty crazy.

I love the vendor's spots ....I am always impressed with my Uncovered Ruby neighbors! 

Tonight I did the Twilight Sale in SE Portland. Amazing stuff. The best people watching you will find in Portland. 

Vietnam Vets meets tattooed, pierced, young people...what more can you ask for? 

Good sales....I WILL be back for October!

Shopping in the name of 'research"...

I met my Corvallis Ladies in Albany last week to check out a few sales. My mom and her Cohorts in Crime let me crash their vintage shopping trip. I got in the car at the crack of dawn (9:00am) and hit the road for Albany. Coffee, bottle of water and almonds....I am ready to SHOP. Powered UP.

First stop was Blackberry Junction. I was thrown off-guard by the name, I have to say. I thought it would be a little bit country...and I felt a little bit rock'n'roll. WRONG. Loved it....

I couldn't capture a picture to do this fine establishment justice. GREAT displays, lots of greenery, layers and METAL. I HEART metal. I found loads of vintage letter baskets. Swoon.

Next stop is The Vintage Roost which I have wanted to shop for YEARS (and years and years). I cannot find a blog link for them and I do not have a postcard, but let me tell you there is more magic in this smallish outbuilding and the surrounding grounds than one could possibly imagine.

I came home with this beauty of a metal double sink and filled it with my beauty of a Chiweiner dog.

And why was I researching (okay...shopping)...? 

Teeheeheeheehee.....there is a plan a brewin'.........

Back to School, Etsy & Milestones....

I love being being home with the kids for summer. And after YEARS of feeling so detached from my family during the summer and working a million hours, I WENT for it this summer by being on the road with the kids for weeks and weeks (and weeks) at a time.

Come this Tuesday...I was READY for Back-to School!  I might have been more than ready. 

The "free time" bought me time to figure out my newer computer and how to post on Etsy again. SUCCESS! FINALLY

And a successful posting brought SALES. I kind of suspected that might happen....

And yesterday, I also celebrated a milestone with the Mister....

Our TWENTY year anniversary! Crazy. PURE crazy. WHO let those kids say "I do"????

We went to celebrate at a local restaurant Clarklewis....

September 7th, 1991....twenty years ago....so unbelievable. I can remember the day. The smells, the feelings, the menu, the music and what people wore...and yet..here we are! September 7, 2011.  

This is what it is all about!
