In the past we've hosted some SERIOUS 4th of July parties.
This year...not so much. In fact, I heard my husband say "We're only lighting books of matches in the intersection this year". I HOPE he's kidding.....
We pulled things back. 15 people verses 30-40. And fewer fireworks. I think my husband will approve.
(Still trying to figure out when HE turned into one cranky old man.)
Cole and I bought the MOST important goods...
Some one has to take control....right?
And we bought drumettes & wings to smoke in the new BBQ smoker, sparkling water, tons of Farmer's market goods...we might have fewer guests, but they will be well-fed guests!
Then we went thrifting...with a VIEW!
Picket fencing to build my on-the-road space
Barn house stairs! I have wanted that for our home forever!!!
We had a good day. For sure...
And at the farmer's market we bought flowers and mixed them with our garden roses....I love the summer!
And then...a little grown-up fun!
Portland in the summer never fails to provide activities.
Tomorrow, Hood River? Beach? Only tomorrow will tell!
Cheers to a happy 4th of July preparation to you.
If you head to Hood River, give me a shout! :-) Happy 4th to you. Those picket fence parts will make a great on-the-road space for you!
