I quit my job in December 2005. Bad morale was getting me down. I decided to blog in 2006. I even took a class. (Stop laughing).
Some friends and I rented a little 6x10 booth at a local antique mall. I needed something "real" to do. I also started working for a local estate sale company as a merchandiser (meaning I dig through people's stuff and then make it pretty). It was amazingly fun and I made such good friends and connections.
Then the Antique Mall owner was moving and we decided to move on as well. I was thinking another antique mall booth, but my sweet little space (STORE FRONT!) on Alberta Street opened up & I took the plunge of a lifetime.
I've had good friends and good advice behind me all the way. (But it's still scary!!!).
I still open the front door Wed-Sat and I cannot believe that it's MY key, my shop, my dream...all right there in front of me.
Scary estate sales, MY KIDS, scrapbooking, anything with paper, monkeys, shopping, shopping, shopping, finding The Great Deal, VH1 (Breaking Bonduce has me enthralled), Blogs....I am just an easy gal.
